Cork Gardaí arrest drug-driver and 'knight in shining armour' who came to the rescue
With the assistance of the Road Safety Authority, the Roads Policing Unit "encountered an unusual situation."
The Cork County Roads Policing Unit found themselves in a buy-one-get-one-free situation while operating a Christmas Road Safety campaign yesterday in Kanturk.
With the assistance of the Road Safety Authority, the Roads Policing Unit "encountered an unusual situation."
Whilst carrying out the safety campaign, a driver was arrested on suspicion of a drug-driving, having tested positive for cannabis.
Shortly after, "a knight in shining armour," in the shape of the accused's friend arrived at the scene to assist his mate.
The Cork County Roads Policing Unit advised that "no good deed goes unpunished" as the friend in question was then also arrested on suspicion of drug-driving.

The second driver tested positive for cannabis, cocaine, opiates, benzodiazepines amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Cork Garda Síochana have said "The Consequences of drug-driving are real. Never drive under the influence. Drug-driving is not just illegal – it’s life-threatening."
"If you drive under the influence, you're risking your future – and someone else's life."
