It is understood that the alleged assault took place at a temporary accommodation facility.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital on Monday night following an alleged assault in Cork city centre.

Gardaí responded to reports of an incident, which occurred in the Anglesea Street area of Cork city, at approximately 10.20pm.

As a result of the incident, a man in his 30s was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

It is understood that the alleged assault took place at a temporary accommodation facility.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána told The Echo that enquiries into the alleged assault are currently ongoing.
