Macroom market set to bring Christmas magic

A Real Cork Christmas (ARCC) campaign kicks off in Macroom.

The Macroom traditional Christmas market is to take place on Tuesday, December 9, in the town square from 9am.

There will be a wide variety of stalls on offer, including Christmas goodies, crafts, and local produce.

A Cork County Council spokesperson said the plan is to close the road at the public toilets for the day to facilitate the erection of a marquee in the square to accommodate additional stalls and allow the safe passage of visitors through the market.

They added: “We are inviting interested stall holders to contact Macroom Town Hall to book a place at the market. Due to the level of interest, stall positions are filling up fast.

“Local schools are being contacted to see if their TY students would be interested in taking a stall. We also plan to open upstairs in Macroom Town Hall to accommodate additional stall holders.”

The market will be opened by the cathaoirleach of Macroom municipal district, councillor Michael Looney.
