The popular The Other 3 Amigos Podcast, held its first-ever live podcast last week and raised over €3,000 for Cork City Hospitals Children’s Club (CCHCC).

The event at the Metropole Hotel, held ahead of the FAI Cup final between Cork City FC and Shamrock Rovers, brought Cork City FC fans together for a night of laughter, football chat, and community spirit, all while supporting a great cause.

Founded in 1994 by staff at the then-Regional Hospital Cork (now Cork University Hospital), CCHCC provides children experiencing illness with a break from their daily challenges.

The charity raises funds for its three main annual events, which includes a trip to Disneyland Paris, along with individual family supports throughout the year.

Grateful

CCHCC chairman John Looney told The Echo that they were extremely grateful for the donation from The Other 3 Amigos Podcast.

“It is absolutely fantastic, and they are going to present us with that in the next couple of days,” said Mr Looney.

“Even having them on board was just fantastic.

“That €3,000 will cover three children to go to EuroDisney for us next year.”

The Other 3 Amigos Podcast director Declan Carey told The Echo that attendees at the live podcast were delighted to support such a worthy cause.

“It was all very worthwhile,” said Mr Carey.

“It was a nice thing to remember from what was probably a forgettable weekend, from a football perspective.

“It was an unbelievable success, and you could just see that people wanted to support it.

“We will definitely do a bit more with them in the future as well.

“I know the good work that John Looney is doing around the place and how hard it is to fundraise. I know John is working tirelessly on this charity.”
