Social Democrats leader Holly Cairns is one of the main featured guests this Friday night on the Late Late Show on RTÉ One.

The Cork woman, who returned to work in the Dáil in September following the birth of her first child, will join host Patrick Kielty in the studio to discuss a number of topics including the current political landscape in Ireland, the challenges facing the left opposition and her future vision for the future of the country.

Ms Cairns is also set to discuss the aftermath of the recent presidential election.

Elsewhere, actors Steve Coogan and Éanna Hardwicke will make an appearance to talk about the highly anticipated film Saipan, which is about the infamous 2002 World Cup bust up between Cork’s own Roy Keane and the then Ireland football manager Mick McCarthy.

The pair will be talking about how they prepared to step into the shoes of two of the figures involved in one of the most talked about moments in Irish football history.

The Irish premiere of Saipan is being held in The Everyman Theatre tonight as part of the Opening Night Gala of the 2025 Cork International Film Festival.

The newly appointed Liveline presenter on RTÉ Radio 1 Kieran Cuddihy also will be in the Late Late Show studio, as will singer songwriter Nell Mescal.

The Late Late Show will be broadcast on Friday night at 9:35pm on RTÉ One and on the RTÉ Player.
