Ballyphehane Tidy Towns group has been awarded the Muintir Cork na Tíre Pride in the Community Cork City Awards 2025.
The Tidy Towns group said: “We are absolutely blown away and beyond grateful to have won the Muintir Cork na Tíre Pride in the Community Cork City Awards. This came as a total surprise that we were genuinely not expecting, but what an incredible honour for our small, but mighty, community here in Ballyphehane.
“A huge thank you to everyone who supports Ballyphehane Tidy Towns: Our amazing volunteers, neighbours, local groups, and every single person who picks up a piece of litter, plants a flower, or simply cheers us on. This is your award, too. We’re so proud of what we’ve built together, and this recognition just motivates us to keep going (and growing).”
Other honours bestowed on the group last week were the Tidy Towns Endeavour Awards.
On this win, the group said: “We’re thrilled that Ballyphehane Tidy Towns has won the Endeavour Award and were Highly Commended in the Young Persons in Tidy Towns Category at this year’s National Tidy Towns Awards 2025.”
“This special award celebrates the community in each county that made the biggest improvement in their score from last year; a true testament to the hard work, pride, and passion of our volunteers, local partners, schools, and everyone who plays a part in keeping Ballyphehane beautiful.”
“Every litter pick, every flower planted, every small act of care has made a difference, and this recognition belongs to all of you who continue to make our community blossom and shine. Here’s to an even greener, cleaner, and more connected Ballyphehane.”

Volunteers are needed to tend to the Community and Sensory Garden in the Tory Top Library, Ballyphehane. In collaboration with the CDP and Tory Top Library, it will require gentle duties, a relaxing atmosphere, and connecting with your community.
Pop along to Tory Top Library each Wednesday morning from 10:30am to 1pm and talk to Murielle or contact 021 4924934.
