A 33-year-old man who is accused of putting his mother and father in fear on two occasions at the family home was remanded in custody until October 3.
The two charges were before an in camera hearing of Cork District Court.
The allegations were outlined in the course of a bail application.
On September 11 he allegedly arrived at the house at 9.30pm in an intoxicated condition trying to gain entry despite being told he was not welcome.
He was kicking the door and shouting verbal abuse. He fled when he realised gardaí had been called.
It was alleged he committed a very similar offence after 6p, on September 25.

The defendant agreed that he had a drink problem that he needed to address.
