The national forecaster has said that the counties of Cork, Clare, Kerry, Limerick and Galway can expect heavy spells of blustering rain from tomorrow, which could lead to difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility and localised flooding.
The weather warning will come into effect at 6pm on Tuesday and will stay in place until 3am on Wednesday.
A status yellow gale warning from Strangford Lough to Howth Head to Carnsore Point and on the Irish Sea, South of Isle of Man, issued on Sunday, will also remain in place until 4am on Tuesday.
Met Éireann has said that those using the indicated waterways should be aware that westerly winds will reach up to gale force 8 at times.
Additionally, a small craft warning for all coasts of Ireland, also issued on Sunday, will remain in place until 6pm on Wednesday as south-easterly winds, veering south-westerly, will reach up to force 6 or higher.
