Emergency services are at the scene and Gardaí have put diversions in place with the Glanmire slip road now closed

Motorists in Cork are facing delays this morning following a single-vehicle collision on the M8 at Glanmire, Junction 18.

Emergency services are at the scene and Gardaí have put diversions in place.

The road is closed from Watergrasshill and traffic diverted to the Old Glanmire to Watergrasshill Road.

A man in his 20s has been taking to hospital following the incident which occurred at approximately 7am.

A Garda spokesperson told

The Echo

"Gardaí received a report of a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the M8 (J18) in Cork which occurred shortly before 7am today, Tuesday 20th of August 2025.

"A man, aged in his 20s, was brought by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.

"No other injuries reported at this time.

"The road is closed southbound from J17 Watergrasshill and traffic diverted to the Old Glanmire to Watergrasshill Road. The northbound road is open."
