Cork County Council’s annual Culture Night will return on Friday, September 19 with 100 free events.

The night will incorporate dozens of events across 17 hub towns and surrounding areas in the county.

Following on from the success of last year, when 17,000 people attended, this year’s programme includes a range of interactive family experiences and events celebrating both Irish traditions and global influences.

Co-ordinated by Cork County Council and funded by the Arts Council, Culture Night shines a light on the diverse, dynamic, and creative communities that make Cork a cultural destination.

The event acts as an opportunity for all cultural producers to reach new audiences.

Highlights from this year’s programme include a fire performance by ROGU and music by Red FM’s Stevie G at Camden Fort Meagher; an outdoor screening of musical fantasy film Wicked at Mallow Castle; an inclusive theatre workshop with the Mallow Musical Society; and a live performance from Gealach Quartet & Leevy in Bantry.

Culture Night 2025 will also feature pop-up performances, poetry readings, musical events, children’s workshops, and short-form theatre in venues across the county.

Mayor of the County of Cork Mary Linehan Foley said that Culture Night is a “wonderful celebration of the creativity, heritage, and diversity”.

“It’s an open invitation to step inside our theatres, galleries, studios, and historic buildings, to meet the artists, performers, and storytellers who inspire and connect us,” said Ms Linehan Foley.

“I encourage everyone to get out and explore what’s on offer. There’s something for all ages, and, best of all, it’s free.

“Culture Night reminds us that the arts are not only for special occasions, they are part of the fabric of everyday life here in our county.”

Culture Night 2025 will kick off from 4pm until late, with some activities requiring prior booking.
