Gardaí in Cork city have charged a man in connection with an aggravated burglary at a residential property in the Lagan Grove area of Mayfield this morning, at around 12.40am.

The male in his 30s arrested in connection with the investigation is due to appear at Cork City District Court tomorrow morning.

"Gardaí on patrol in the area responded to the incident," said the spokesperson.

The male, aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and detained at a garda Station in the Co Cork area, the gardaí said earlier.

A technical examination of the scene was conducted by gardaí, who have appealed for anyone with any information regarding the incident to come forward.

"Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and were in the Lagan Grove area of Mayfield, Cork city, between midnight on Sunday, 10th August 2025, and 1am on Monday, 11th August 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí," said the spokesperson.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Mayfield Garda Station on (021) 455 8510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any sarda station.

"Investigations are ongoing," said the spokesperson.
