A Cork city woman got a major surprise when she arrived at Cork Airport today.

Benvon Deasy from Rochestown along with her family, Killian, Siofra, Aoibhe and Laoise who were flying to Capetown via London Heathrow with Aer Lingus were presented with a special hamper and bottle of champagne, courtesy of Cork Airport Duty Free.

Ms Deasy was given the gifts when she was named the two millionth passenger of 2025 at the airport. 

The airport is preparing for a busy August Bank Holiday with 74,000 passengers expected.
