Cork Airport has announced two new European destinations as part of their winter schedule.
The new routes, operated by Aer Lingus, will see passengers travel to Prague in the Czech Republic and Geneva in Switzerland.
Along with the new destinations, Aer Lingus will continue to fly to the ever-popular winter sun destinations of Malaga, Tenerife and Lanzarote; with a ski service to Munich, and it’s four-times daily service to London Heathrow.
Services to Prague will operate twice weekly at Cork Airport, on Thursdays and Sundays, from October 23 through to March 26.
Services to Geneva will operate once weekly from the facility, on Saturdays, from December 20 through to March 28.
Additionally, the airline has also increased it’s frequency on it's Lyon service, which will see further flights operating on the route from December 20 through to March 28.
Tara Finn, head of aviation business development and communications at Cork Airport, said the new offerings increase the “breadth of choice” for Cork passengers.
“Both are attractive destinations and will increase the breadth of choice for passengers from across the South of Ireland, choosing the convenience of Cork Airport.”
Susanne Carberry, who is the chief customer officer at Aer Lingus, said that the airline is pleased to bring further “coolcation” destinations to travellers at Cork Airport.
“Aer Lingus’ new and extended winter routes from Cork expand our network and offer new winter escape destinations for our customers in the Munster region,” said Ms Carberry.
“Winter breaks or coolcations are growing in popularity among Irish consumers, and we’re delighted to respond to this trend by offering greater choice and convenience for seasonal travel across the continent this year."
