Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

Gardaí in Cork are appealing for witnesses following a serious single-vehicle road traffic collision in Youghal on Tuesday afternoon.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted following a collision involving an e-scooter at approximately 4:30pm on Tuesday, July 8, on Barrack Rd, Magniers Hill.

The driver, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

The road remained closed for several hours on Tuesday evening for a technical examination, with local diversions in place. It has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

A garda spokesperson said road users with camera footage - including dash-cam - who were in the area at the time were asked to make it available to Gardaí.
