Dashcam appeal as woman seriously injured after parked SUV 'moved unexpectedly' in Farranree

The incident occurred on Popham’s Road, Farranree this afternoon.

Gardaí have confirmed tonight that a woman in her 60s sustained serious injuries in a road traffic incident that occurred shortly before 12 noon today, on Pophams Road in  Farranree. 

Emergency services and gardaí responded following reports that a woman had been struck by a parked car (SUV) that unexpectedly moved. 

She was removed to Cork University Hospital.

The road was temporarily closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

In addition they are appealing to any road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam and were in the area at the time, to make it available to them.
