Join Creative Traditions’ panel of trad music tutors

Membership in Club Ceoil Blarney and Club Ceoil Knocknaheeny is growing, so they are searching for passionate, experienced music teachers to join their panel for the next academic year.

“We need tutors to lead workshops on concertina, accordion, fiddle, sean-nós dancing, and guitar, with other instruments and substitute roles also likely depending on registration numbers,” the group said.

People who have experience teaching music, and who enjoy working with young people and adults in the community are welcome to apply.

If you are a multi-instrumentalist, it is a big bonus.

All successful applicants must complete Garda vetting and child protection training before classes begin.

Apply by 4pm, on Friday, June 27. Send your CV or any questions to creativetradition@gmail.com.

Successful ‘Rock the Block’

The Kabin Studio has hailed the ‘Rock the Block’ event as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2025 at St Anne’s Park Shandon as a success.

“Thank you to everyone for being a part of Rock the Block,” the group said.

“An amazing lineup of performers of all ages, plenty of brand new songs and big energy in a supportive atmosphere. And was made even better with all the support from everyone involved in the background.

“Big thanks to our special guests Hazey Haze, B-Boy Cian Mulcahy and Beatboxer Lamar for inspiring the next generation of young creatives.

“Big love to everyone for making it happen!”

Rock the Block was a youth music festival, which took place on June 7, as part of Ireland’s national day of creativity for young people.
