Gardaí are investigating reports of a robbery at an off licence in Cork city yesterday evening, where a sum of cash is believed to have been taken.

An off licence on Thomas Davis Street in Blackpool was allegedly robbed by someone understood to have been armed with a screwdriver, gardaí told The Echo

Anyone who was in the area or has dash cam footage between 8pm and 9pm is asked to make this available to them.

A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí responded to reports of a robbery that occurred at approximately 8.30pm, Monday June 2 2025 at a premises at Thomas Davis Street, Blackpool, Cork City.

“A sum of cash is believed to have been taken. Investigations are ongoing.”
