Three men have been taken to hospital following an alleged assault in Cork city last night.

The incident, which was reported to gardaí just after midnight, occurred on Devonshire Street in Cork city centre.

Three men, aged in their 20s and 30s, suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident, and were conveyed to Mercy University Hospital for treatment.

A Garda spokesperson told The Echo that a technical examination of the scene has been carried out, and that the street has now reopened for public use.

Investigations into the alleged assault are ongoing.
