Gardaí assisted emergency services with an incident of fire at a domestic residence in Doneraile on Wednesday night.

A man was hospitalised last night following a fire at a domestic residence in Doneraile, North Cork.

Emergency services attended the scene at around 9.30pm last night, and the man in his 40s was taken to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The fire is believed to have been caused by accident, with gardaí saying that no offences have been disclosed.

A garda spokesperson told The Echo: “Gardaí assisted emergency services with an incident of fire at a domestic residence in Doneraile, Co. Cork on Wednesday May 14th 2025 at approximately 9:30 pm.

“A man in his 40s was injured during the incident and conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

“No offences have been disclosed.”
