A software company has announced an expansion of its Cork base with the creation of 50 new jobs.

Canto, a provider of digital asset management is to expand operastions at its innovation centre in Cork, based in South Mall in the city centre, with plans to grow the office as part of the company’s global product development strategy.

The project is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.

Minister for enterprise, tourism and employment Peter Burke TD said: “The Irish Government supports Canto's expansion in Cork, creating 50 new jobs. This investment underscores our dedication to innovation and technological advancement, reinforcing Ireland's position as a leader in AI and software development. 

"The Cork region, with its strong educational institutions like University College Cork and Munster Technological University, provides an excellent environment for fostering innovation and developing specialised talent, and IDA Ireland provides invaluable support to companies seeking to utilise this ecosystem. We look forward to Canto's continued growth and positive impact."

Cork will serve as a strategic European hub for several core initiatives by the company.
