PepsiCo has announced a new charity partnership with a Cork-based autism support centre.

The organisation’s new partnership with Rainbow Club Cork will see employees volunteer with the service, as well as the donation of 10 iPads and funding for an educational room at the charity’s facility in Mahon.

Rainbow Club Cork is a unique universal autism model that combines community, awareness, advocacy and services to address the needs of young autistic people and their families.

The charity is the only organisation of its kind in Ireland, providing a wrap-around service for autistic children, teens and adults through 23 adapted programmes. The funding for the educational room, provided to the charity earlier this year, aimed to support children at Rainbow Club Cork in early intervention programmes as well as children and teens who are out of school.

Additionally, as part of their volunteer work, PepsiCo employees will dedicate their time to numerous activities at the centre including cleaning, painting, weeding, and more.

This partnership follows Rainbow Club Cork’s recent hosting of an informative talk for PepsiCo employees highlighting their work.

“Rainbow Club Cork is a charity that holds a special place in the hearts of our employees,” said PepsiCo charity lead, Olivia O’Neill.

“It serves as a vital support system for families, children, and young adolescents in Cork, providing essential services to help young people with autism in our community reach their full potential.

“PepsiCo is excited to continue this partnership and contribute to the growth and success of Rainbow Club Cork’s initiatives.”

CEO of Rainbow Club Cork, Karen O’Mahony, said that the centre is grateful for the support of PepsiCo and looks forward to a continued partnership with the organisation.

“The impact of this financial funding along with the support of the wonderful staff at PepsiCo is what makes partnerships successful, working together in the community to create opportunities for our young people,” said Ms O’Mahony.
