Actress, presenter, and broadcaster Jennifer Zamparelli has been announced as part of the cast for an upcoming show at Cork Opera House.
Set to join the cast of Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Show this August 25-30 as The Narrator, Ms Zamparelli will perform alongside Adam Strong.
Ms Zamparelli, best known for her work on Dancing with the Stars, Republic of Telly, and hidden camera show The Fear, is no stranger to the world of musical theatre, having also previously starred in Priscilla Queen of the Desert at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.
Excited
“I am beyond excited to jump into the Rocky Horror Show,” Ms Zamparelli said.
“It’s outrageous, it’s hilarious, and whether you’re a diehard fan or a first timer, this is one experience you won’t want to miss.
“I can’t wait to bring my own twist to the role of The Narrator and Time Warp with audiences across Ireland — it’s going to be a wild ride.”
Rocky Horror Show’s Brad will be played by Connor Carson, Janet by Lauren Chia, Riff Raff by Job Greuter and Magenta/Usherette by Natasha Hoeberigs.
Columbia will be played by Jayme-Lee Zanoncelli, Rocky by Morgan Jackson, and Eddie/Dr Scott by Edward Bullingham.
Musical numbers
Completing the cast are phantoms Ryan Carter-Wilson, Arthur Janes, Hollie Nelson, Erica Wild, with on-stage swing Alex Hetherington and on-stage swing/dance captain Stacey Monahan.
Directed by Christopher Luscombe, the show will feature famous musical numbers including Sweet Transvestite, Science Fiction/Double Feature, Dammit Janet, and Time Warp.
The musical tells the story of Brad and his fianceé Janet, two college kids who meet Dr Frank’n’Furter by chance when their car breaks down outside his house on the way to visit their favourite college professor.
