Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an incident of criminal damage by fire that occurred in West Cork yesterday.

The incident occurred in the Bantry area, along the road from Castledonovan to Bantry, at around 2pm. 

Two excavators were extensively damaged by fire, gardaí said. 

Gardaí are appealing for anybody who may have information about the incident to come forward, in particular any road users that were travelling on the Castledonovan to Bantry road between 1pm and 2:30pm yesterday. 

Anyone who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, is also asked to make that footage available to gardaí.
