Approximately 80 new jobs are on the way to Cork as part of a further expansion into the Irish market by the Norwegian energy consultancy and assurance provider DNV.

As part of the expansion of their Irish operations, DNV in total plan to recruit 200 people in Ireland over the next two years, with an estimated 40% of the jobs coming to Cork, while there will also be a full integration of Dublin based Enviroguide Consulting into DNV, which the Norweigan company acquired back in 2023.

With the company headquarters located at Oslo in Norway, DNV operates in more than 100 countries and with 15,000 employees globally.

In Ireland, DNV are focused on supporting the transition to a low carbon energy system. This includes increasing the adoption of renewable energy sources, improving energy efficiency and leveraging digitalisation, along with artificial intelligence to enhance performance in the energy sector.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin welcomed the news of DNV expanding operations in Ireland.

“The decision to choose Ireland as a location for DNV’s operations and their future is a vote of confidence in our highly skilled workforce and our commitment to sustainability,” he said.

Hari Vamadevan, executive vice president and regional director, UK & Ireland, energy systems at DNV, said the company are looking forward to continued growth in the Irish market.

“DNV’s Irish office is pivotal in providing independent energy expertise and technical guidance, aiding industries and governments in navigating the complex transitions within both global and regional energy sectors.”
