A garda spokesperson confirmed that the operation targeting organised crime in Cork city is ongoing. Picture Denis Minihane.

One person has been charged, while two others remain in custody following a garda led operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs by an organised crime group operating in Cork city centre.

A man aged in his 30s has been charged and is due to appear before a sitting of Cork District Court tomorrow at 10:30am. A second man currently remains in Garda custody.

Meanwhile, a woman in her 40s was also arrested on Saturday afternoon. She is currently being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at a garda station in Cork city.

A garda spokesperson confirmed that the operation targeting organised crime in Cork city is ongoing.
