A Macroom man is running the Paris Marathon next month to raise vital funds for Cork University Hospital (CUH) Charity.

Darrell Holden is busy preparing for the big race in the French capital, which will take place on Saturday, April 13.

Established in 2012, CUH Charity is the nominated charity of both CUH and Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH). It works closely with the management team and healthcare experts at the hospitals to identify the most pressing needs and provide financial support for all departments of the hospital.

“You are raising money for a better environment and for better equipment.

“That was the main reason why I picked the CUH Charity. You know it is going to be used in a positive way,” Mr Holden said.

“I am the only person from Cork doing the Paris Marathon for the CUH Charity. It is a good thing and it will keep me motivated.”

Anyone interested in donating to Mr Holden’s fundraiser can do so online at idonate.ie/fundraiser/DarrellHolden
