More than €6,000 has been raised for the Good Shepherd charity at the annual Marketing Institute of Ireland (MII) Cork ball.

The Cork branch of the MII hosted a ‘Come Fly with Me’ ball at the Vienna Woods Hotel, which saw members of the local business and marketing community come together for a night of celebration, fine dining, and fundraising.

The black-tie evening kicked-off with a cocktail reception at 7pm, and was followed by a four-course dinner with wine, live music, dancing, and more.

Attendees had the opportunity to celebrate rising talent through the Student of the Year Awards, while also supporting a vital cause through a charity raffle, where €6,115 was raised for the Good Shepherd organisation.

Chair of the MII Cork ball, Katie Power said: “The ‘Come Fly with Me’ Ball was a tribute to the glamour of jet-setting and a celebration of the incredible achievements within Cork’s business and marketing community.

“More importantly, it was an opportunity to give back.

“We are delighted with the generosity shown by attendees, which allowed us to raise €6,115 for Good Shepherd Cork.

“The support we received highlights the community’s commitment to making a positive impact.” 

Good Shepherd Cork provides essential support to women, children, and families who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.

The charity operates seven centres across the city, providing emergency accommodation, education and training, outreach and support, and long-term supported accommodation to more than 900 women, children, and families annually.

In 2025, the organisation has said it plans to expand its services in Cork with the opening of it’s first support centre in the county.

Sponsors of this year’s annual MII Cork ball included Cork’s Red FM, AFTA (Atlantic Flight Training Academy) and Hopkins Communications.
