A Cork politician has been arrested as part of a fraud investigation.

A Cork politician has been arrested as part of a fraud investigation.

The man was arrested yesterday and questioned before being released without charge yesterday evening. 

A garda spokesperson said: "As part of an ongoing investigation into fraud offences, Gardaí in Co Cork arrested and detained a man yesterday, Friday, 7th of March 2025.

"He was released without charge on the evening of 7th March 2025.

"Investigations are ongoing."
