Leading global professional services network Forvis Mazars has announced as the sponsor of the National Concert Hall’s programme at Cork University Hospital (CUH) titled ‘Music in Children’s Hospitals: Kids Classics.'
The programme is being delivered through a partnership between the National Concert Hall and Music and Health Ireland, which has been ongoing since 2009.
The aim of this particular partnership is to provide live music and entertainment to the young patients in children's hospitals, through a team of Music and Health Ireland musicians trained in the delivery of music in healthcare settings.
Music and Health Ireland also aim to create and deliver equitable performances that comfort and connect. Their mission is to take music off the concert stage and bring it into the heart of communities.
Speaking at the launch of the CUH initiative, Fiona Byrne, lead partner of Forvis Mazars in Cork said: “Music has a unique ability to uplift, comfort and inspire, especially in healthcare settings. Forvis Mazars is honoured to support this programme which brings moments of joy and connection to young patients and their families, reinforcing the profound role that music plays in health and wellbeing.
Robert Read, CEO of the National Concert Hall added: “The National Concert Hall is delighted to welcome this backing from Forvis Mazars to support the work of our ‘Music in Children’s Hospitals: Kids’ Classics’ programme in Cork University Hospital.
