Lukasz Wrobel, of Cork Simon Community, pleaded guilty to charges of engaging in threatening behaviour and being so intoxicated that he was a source of danger to himself or others at the time.
Sergeant John Kelleher said the incident occurred on November 25, 2024, at Cornmarket St.
Garda Shane Lucey was on beat patrol and encountered the accused shouting and causing a disturbance.
“While speaking with him, there was a strong smell of cannabis and alcohol. He became extremely abusive and aggressive.
“Mr Wrobel was gritting his teeth and shouting: ‘Give me back my weed, you stupid c***.’ And he shouted: ‘I will come for you.’
“He did not calm down and desist and he began shouting at members of the public.”
In an earlier incident, on August 1, 2024, Garda Shane Hayes found a knife in the defendant’s trousers pocket and a small amount of cannabis for his own use.
Judge Mary Dorgan said she would remand the accused in custody until February 6 for a probation report.
Solicitor Eddie Burke said the Polish man remained residing in Cork after his mother went back to Poland.
He added: “He is clean of drugs now for the first time in about 10 years.”
