Young Offenders star, Cork’s Demi Isaac has landed a new radio gig with RTÉ 2FM as part of the station’s new schedule.

Her move to RTÉ 2FM comes as part of a programme shake-up for both daytime and weekend radio shows on the station.

Demi, who also has broadcasting experience from her time on Cork’s 96FM, will be presenting from RTÉ’s Cork studios at the weekends, as part of 2FM’s search for the next generation of radio talent.

The weekend schedule is being reinvigorated with the addition of four new presenters, also including Bennie Bracken, Helen Galgey, and Mikey O’Reilly.

They, along with Demi, were all selected from an expression of interest competition which ran across the station last autumn.

Also as part of the RTÉ 2FM shake-up, an all-new Breakfast Show presented by Carl Mullan, Roz Purcell, and Aisling Bonner promises to “wake up the nation with a new energy, sharp wit, and unbeatable soundtrack”.

Mid-morning programming will continue with Laura Fox daily from 9am, while Tracy Clifford will take the baton at 12 noon with the best of Irish music and rising acts.

As the day turns to evening, Doireann Garrihy will take listeners home, with what the station said will be “the hottest tracks, entertainment updates, and feel-good vibes to power the evening commute”.

Head of RTÉ 2FM Dan Healy said: “I’m really excited to launch our daytime schedule with new and familiar voices on 2FM as we welcome back Doireann to present our new Drivetime show and look forward to Carl, Roz, and Aisling as our new breakfast hosts. Designed for today’s audience, the new schedule will have an emphasis on Irish and new music, inclusivity, and original entertainment.

“Whether you’re starting the day, on your commute, or unwinding over the weekend, 2FM will have something fresh and exciting waiting for you.

“RTÉ 2FM has a proud history of identifying and nurturing incredible talent, with many of our presenters going on to have hugely successful careers in broadcasting.”

RTÉ’s director of audio Patricia Monahan said: “For decades, RTÉ 2FM has been a launchpad for some of the most recognisable names in Irish broadcasting.

“This legacy continues on both our weekday and weekend schedules, as we continue to nurture the next generation of presenting talent and bring new voices to the national airwaves.”

The new daytime and weekend schedules launch next month.
