Waiting for a parcel in Cork? An Post issues final pre-Christmas delivery update

Any items that arrived after midnight on Sunday cannot be guaranteed delivery but An Post has said that they will do all they can to deliver as many as possible.

An Post has issued a final pre-Christmas update for those waiting on packages across Cork, reminding customers that today is the last day for posting cards.

The national postal service moved its nationwide delivery from Saturday to Sunday, to include more than 150,000 additional parcels, which reached Ireland through various ports and by air over the weekend.

In total, An Post delivered 330,000 parcels and three million Christmas cards across almost 4,000 postal routes on December 22.

The service has said that they will continue to deliver every parcel received into their hubs over the weekend up until Christmas Eve, from both Irish and international retailers and personal customers.

Any items that arrived after midnight on Sunday cannot be guaranteed delivery but An Post has said that they will do all they can to deliver as many as possible.

The service further said that Christmas cards are now at their peak, and are expecting to deliver more than five million between today and tomorrow.

As today is the last day to send cards, post offices will be open all day today and until 1pm on Christmas Eve for last minute gifts and banking.

All post offices will re-open on December 30, with parcel deliveries resuming on December 28.

Representatives from An Post Communications said: “Happy Christmas to you all and thanks for your support over the year. Best wishes for 2025.”
