A planning application for a large-scale residential development in Douglas has been submitted to Cork City Council.
The plans, lodged by Cairn Homes Ltd, seek to construct 108 residential units at a site in the Castletreasure townland, just off the Carrigaline Rd.
The development, located 3.5km south-east of Cork City, will be made up of a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, arranged in two apartment blocks, ranging in height from four to five storeys.
The proposed plans also cover development works, including the implementation of vehicular and pedestrian access, footpaths, cycle lanes, landscaping, bicycle and car parking, and bin and bike storage.
The proposed development will replace 40 residential units — consisting of 20 two-bedroom duplexes and 20 three-bedroom duplexes — permitted under An Bord Pleanála.
Cork City Council is expected to make a decision on the planning application, which is currently at the pre-validation stage, by February 14.
