Trains resume following 'serious incident' on line between Mallow and Tralee

Train services between Mallow and Tralee were suspended this morning for a time.

It comes following a "serious incident on the line".

A spokesperson for Irish Rail told The Echo that a person was fatally struck shortly after 9am this morning.

The incident took place near Killarney.

Emergency services attended the scene.

Services are expected to resume shortly between Mallow/Tralee. 

The 13:25 Mallow/Tralee service has departed Mallow station and is operating approximately 10 minutes behind schedule
