Share residents entertained by Over-60s contest winners
The residents of the Brother Jerome Kelly Day Care Centre, Share, on Sheares St, were entertained by winners and finalists of the Over-60s Talent Competition.
Organiser Paddy O’Brien paid tribute to the Share management for “the wonderful units they provide throughout the city”.
“It all began many years ago by the late Brother Jerome Kelly Presentation Order, who saw the great need for decent housing for the elderly of Cork. I spoke to residents at Share — they are all so happy to be living at the centre — and also spoke to some of the residents from the various Share units throughout the city.
“All the Over-60s entertainers got a great reception and were thanked by Janice O’Riordan, activities co-ordinator. Two of the residents at the centre, Jim Ryan and Agnes Browne, also entertained the large audience. Ger Bruton accompanied all the singers on the keyboard.”
The group will perform at the Brú Columbanus Centre, Wilton, on Thursday this week.
