Marks & Spencer has announced 40 new seasonal job opportunities across its Cork stores this festive period.

The company has said that it is looking to recruit the new 40 staff members for the Christmas period across its Patrick Street and Douglas stores.

Nationally, the company has announced that 210 jobs are available.

The customer assistant positions are in the foods and clothing and home departments and will involve serving customers, keeping shelves stocked, and helping with recommendations.

Seasonal colleagues will also support M&S’ popular Christmas food to order service, ensuring festive essentials are ready on time for customers across Ireland.

The roles on offer are flexible with a variety of working patterns and the recruitment window is now open, with new hires starting from mid-November.

"To guarantee exceptional customer service, we're investing in ensuring we have enough colleagues on the shop floor during the Christmas period," regional manager for Marks & Spencer Ireland, John Paul McShane, said.

"Many of our current colleagues started with M&S in seasonal roles and have progressed through internal programmes like ‘Stepping Into Team Manager’."
