A special comedy event featuring performers Emma Doran, Chris Kent, Andrew Ryan, Shane Todd, and John Colleary has been organised by Cork City FC. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go towards the club’s women’s and academy teams.

City Til I Die…Laughing is taking place in The Everyman on Thursday, October 31.

Cork native Andrew Ryan’s nephew, Louie Ryan, is a goalkeeper with the Cork City FC Academy.

Mr Ryan said he has always been a supporter of Cork City FC, adding that “you can’t beat a night at the Cross”.

"The academy plays such an important role in developing young players into future soccer stars and I see how much it means to teenagers like my own nephew Louie.

"I’m delighted to share the stage with the likes of Chris Kent and Emma Doran for City Til I Die…Laughing

"It will be a great night’s craic," he said.

There are currently four academy boys teams and two girls teams at the club, competing in the League of Ireland Academy leagues.

Commercial director at Cork City FC, Anthony O’Sullivan, extended his thanks to the comedians who will be performing on Thursday.

“We’re really excited about the comedy night and I would like to thank Andrew and all the other comedians for supporting us in this special fundraiser.

“The women’s team and the academy are going from strength to strength and we are seeing an increase in interest from the public, particularly from young girls who want to play football.

“It is important for us to be able to support these teams so that they can continue to develop and improve.”
