Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rain warning for Cork with the public alerted to possible flooding.

The rain warning will come into effect at 3pm tomorrow and will remain in place until 1pm on Friday.

The national forecaster has warned of heavy and persistent rain, with the possibility of thunderstorms.

In addition to localised flooding, other possible impacts could include difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility.
