Cork City Fire Brigade crews have this morning responded to a small fire at a retail premises in the heart of Cork city.

Cork City Fire Brigade crews have this morning responded to a small fire at a retail premises in the heart of Cork city.

The alarm was raised shortly before 11am and three units attended the scene at Cornmarket St.

Victor Shine, second officer at Cork City Fire Brigade, said a “minor fire” had broken out in an electrical switch room at The Loft Superstore.

The fire, he said, has been extinguished. No injuries occurred as a result of the incident.
