LATEST 

An earlier collision on approach to the Jack Lynch Tunnel has now been cleared. 

Delays are continuing in the area. 

EARLIER 

There are delays on Cork's South Ring Road this evening with heavy traffic reported on the N40. 

It follows an earlier collision on the N40 Eastbound on approach to the Jack Lynch Tunnel. 

Transport Infrastructure Ireland says one lane is affected following the incident between J10-Mahon and J11-Dunkettle (Northbound) which is leading to long delays. 

Motorists are advised to approach the area with caution.

Travel times of up to 45 minutes are being reported between J6 Kinsale Road and Glanmire North.

Elsewhere in Cork, an earlier collision on the N25 between Midleton and Barryscourt has been cleared. 

Motorists are also advised that the Jack Lynch Tunnel (southbound) will be closed tonight, Wednesday from 9pm to 4am.
