Investigations are ongoing after a home in the northside of Cork city was damaged on Monday evening.

It is understood that a petrol bomb was thrown into a house at Mary Aikenhead Place in Gurranabraher.

Gardaí and a unit from Cork City Fire Brigade attended the scene, where nobody was injured but the property was damaged.

A Garda spokesperson told The Echo: “Gardaí are investigating a reported incident of criminal damage by fire at a residential premises at Aikenhead Place, Cork, yesterday evening, Monday 26th August 2024.

“No injuries have been reported at this time and enquiries are ongoing.”
