Cork City FC has launched a prize raffle for children to be in for a chance to train with a senior player at their own club.

The competition will also see the winning club act as a guard of honour for the team on August 30 at Turner’s Cross, ahead of their game against Longford Town.

A discount for groups of 10 or more to attend the game is available, with every club or school that purchases tickets automatically entered into a draw.

Schools and clubs can express their interest via an online form by searching: ‘Cork City v Longford Town, groups offer: expression of interest’. Each request submitted via the form will be vetted before a discount code is issued, and once tickets have been purchased they will be emailed to the school or club.

The winner of the prize will then be contacted directly.

Community co-ordinator Erika Ní Thuama said: “We wanted to add to the excitement by offering one club or school a chance to welcome a player to one of their training sessions and learn some invaluable tips on getting the best out of their training.”
