One year on, Cork gardaí renew appeal for missing man John Keaveney 

John Keaveney, a 43-year-old Dubliner and father-of-three, went missing in Cork city between midnight and 12.30am on Monday, August 21, 2023.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of a man who went missing in Cork city a year ago.

John Keaveney, a 43-year-old Dubliner and father-of-three, went missing in Cork city between midnight and 12.30am on Monday, August 21, 2023.

He is described as being approximately 5 foot 9 inches in height with a slim build, being bald with brown eyes.

The last definite sighting of John was about 1am on Monday 21 August by the Circle K petrol station on the Centre Park Road, where he appeared to be confused.

Approximately 20 minutes later, CCTV footage caught an indistinct figure walking past Páirc Uí Chaoimh, heading down the greenway.

John was wearing a pair of navy trousers, a grey Umbro hoodie with the Irish soccer logo and white runners.

Gardaí and John's family are very concerned for his welfare.

A Mass will be held for John Keaveney in the side chapel of the Holy Trinity church at 2pm on Wednesday, August 21. All are welcome.

Anyone with information on John’s whereabouts is asked to contact Anglesea Street Garda Station on 021 452 2000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
