Cork County Council’s Arts Office is inviting members of the public to share their views on how to promote participation in the arts across the county.

The new Arts Plan 2025-2029 will set out the direction, priorities, and goals that will guide the council’s investment into the arts over the next five years.

The plan will have an impact on how the arts service supports artists, makers, and those who deliver arts programmes in professional and voluntary organisations. It will also set out how the Arts Service engages with arts audiences.

The Mayor of County Cork, Joe Carroll, said: “Cultural life in Cork is supported by an arts ecosystem that includes practicing artists, arts organisations, venues, festivals, voluntary arts practitioners, and many others.

“Their dedication and commitment contribute significantly to the quality of life enjoyed by our citizens and also the positive experience visitors have in our county.”

Both in-person and online public consultation meetings will take place across July, with the closing date for submissions set as August 16. Public consultations will take place at Mallow Library on July 16 from 6pm to 8pm; Castle Hotel Macroom on July 17 from 6pm to 8pm; Midleton Library on July 23 from 6pm to 8pm; Carrigaline Family Support Centre on July 24 from 6pm to 8pm; Fermoy Community Youth Centre on July 25 from 6pm to 8pm; Cobh Library on July 27 from 1pm to 3pm; Bandon Library on July 30 from 6pm to 8pm, and Bantry Library on July 31 from 6pm to 8pm.

An online consultation meeting will also take place on July 18 from 6pm to 8pm.
