'The show is still true to its roots': The Young Offenders to return to screens next month

The new series of the hit comedy The Young Offenders is coming to BBC One on May 10 2024.

The fourth series of The Young Offenders is set to air on BBC One from Friday May 10.

All the beloved Cork characters are set to return for more hilarious and heartwarming adventures.

"We’re so excited to be bringing all of the team back for the new series of The  Young Offenders," creator and showrunner Peter Foott said.

"We’ve been able to change things up a little bit this time around, but the show is still true to its roots, we wanted to give the fans the same mix of funny storylines that are also heartfelt, so it’s very much the same show with all cast returning.

"Everyone involved is delighted with series four, and we can’t wait for people to see it and be back in the world of The Young Offenders.”

The new series follows on from the hugely successful previous three series which aired on RTÉ and BBC and the original feature film which was a box office smash in 2016.

Series 2 and 3, filmed back-to-back in 2019, proved massive draws for audiences not only in Ireland and the UK, but across the world, and the show garnered critical acclaim for its sensitive yet hilarious story-telling and performances.

The Young Offenders season four will begin on Friday May 10 on BBC One from 9.30pm.
