A NEW convenience store has been opened on the North Main St in Cork, with 20 new jobs coming on stream.

The state-of-the-art shop follows a substantial investment by The Herlihy’s Centra Group.

The group already employs over 300 people in Cork city and county.

The launch of the North Main Street store will now generate an additional 20 new jobs

“Following significant investment and hard work from our dedicated team, our state-of-the-art store now offers an expanded product range and premium service offering to the people of Cork city and its surroundings,” store owners Kevin and Brian Herlihy said.

“We take pride in incorporating dedicated eco-friendly technologies throughout the store to enhance the customer experience while also caring for our environment.

“A heartfelt thank you goes out to our loyal customers for their continued support in the local community.

“We look forward to welcoming you back to experience our enhanced store and shopping experience soon,” they added.

The enhanced Centra store offers a range of products including the Inspired by Centra range and Frank & Honest coffee, it will also be providing hot and cold deli offerings, as well as a comfortable seating area, an off-licence, and ATM services.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, Herlihy’s Centra has implemented several eco-friendly initiatives as part of the store’s significant investment.

These include the integration of LED lighting and energy-efficient refrigeration systems, reducing environmental impact while enhancing operational efficiency.
