Water outage to impact up to 5,300 Uisce Éireann customers in Cork this weekend 

Uisce Éireann said that in order to facilitate these works an essential water outage is required from 9am on Sunday until approximately 2pm on the South Douglas Road, Douglas Road and surrounding areas.

A PLANNED water outage could impact up to 5,300 Uisce Éireann customers at the weekend. 

The utility is advising the public that it will be carrying out essential network maintenance works in Douglas on Sunday. 

It says that the essential works are required to repair a damaged valve and will strengthen the water supply network in the area by reducing leakage and improving water pressure.

Uisce Éireann said that in order to facilitate these works an essential water outage is required from 9am on Sunday until approximately 2pm on the South Douglas Road, Douglas Road and surrounding areas.

"The outage will potentially impact up to 5,300 customers in the area. The outage is expected to last approximately five hours; however, it may take an additional two or three hours for supply to be fully restored to all customers. These include South Douglas Road, Douglas Road, Well Road, Douglas Hall Lawn, Woodview, Endsleigh Estate, Tramore Lawn, Willow Park, Glencurrig, Alderwood, Ashdene, Moss Lane, Greenhills Court, Rosebank, Loreto Park, Cross Douglas Road, Knockrea Park and Westview,"a spokesperson for Uisce Éireann said. 

The utility is also advising that as the water supply returns, there may be some increased instances of discoloured water in the short-term.
