Spring forward: Don't forget to change your clock tonight

People are encouraged to ensure their alarm clocks and watches are correct as the clocks go forward an hour tonight.
At 1am on March 31, the time will change to 2am, meaning an hour less in bed but longer, brighter evenings, with forecasters predicting 8pm sunsets over the next week.
Smartphones will automatically change to the new time, so alarms set on them will not be affected, as the internal system is wired to recognise all clock changes and reset itself accordingly, but traditional clocks will need to be changed manually.
As the clocks move forward this Sunday and days get brighter, we hope to see many picturesque summer skies in the months ahead like this one over Roches Point. 🌅⏰ pic.twitter.com/mSqOnsshRP

The clocks go forward on the last Sunday of March every year, despite calls to scrap this seasonal time change process.
In 2019, the European Parliament voted in favour of ending the clock changes, but the pandemic delayed the implementation on this, and EU institutions have not made any progress.
The clocks will go back an hour and return to wintertime on Sunday, October 27.
