Man (30s) arrested in connection with assault in East Cork

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with an assault in Youghal shortly before midnight last night.

A Garda spokesperson said Gardaí received report of an incident of assault that occurred at approximately 11:55pm in the Allen’s Quay area of the town.

The spokesperson said one man aged in his 30s was conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of “non-life threatening injuries” sustained as a result of the incident.

“Another man aged in his 30s has been arrested in connection with this incident.

“He remains in custody at this time. Investigations are ongoing,” the spokesperson added.
