A DANCE and acro school based in Ballyphehane and Douglas is looking to raise funds to send their students to compete in an international competition this summer.
Hamilton Acro and Dance opened in September 2022, and now has more than 300 students.
The school recently found out that all 25 of their competition and performance students have qualified to represent Ireland in the Dance World Cup, in Prague, this June.
The team has competed three times in the last 12 months in both Cork and Dublin, and was placed first in all competitions. Seven of their students also competed with solo pieces.
Their competition success led to them being invited by the Irish Dance World Cup representatives to audition, with the school successfully qualifying with every entry.
They are now fundraising through a GoFundMe page and seeking sponsors from Cork businesses, with an aim of raising €25,000 to help cover costs such as accommodation, travel costs, and competition fees, and to aid parents to pay for their team Ireland uniform.
School principals Chloe and Devon Hamilton told The Echo: “This would be a huge opportunity for these students to take to the international stage and represent their country, and we would love and appreciate any support and sponsorship towards getting to Prague.”
